OLDSMAR, Fla., (PRNewswire – April 1, 2014) – Global Convergence, Inc. (GCI), Parent to Network Dynamics, Inc. (NDI) announces that it will participate in a special reception to recognize and honor the City of Columbus, OH for its selection as one of the Top7 Intelligent Communities for 2014. This is the second year in a row that the City of Columbus has been recognized as one of the Top7 Intelligent Communities in the world by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), chosen from hundreds of evaluated communities from around the world.
According to ICF co-founder, Lou Zacharilla, each finalist made it to the list by demonstrating how they have begun to fuse technology, culture and collaboration for economic sustainability. The City of Columbus was chosen in part for its recovery from the 2008 recession by achieving 20,000 more jobs than it had during the 2007 economic peak, and is a finalist for the 2014 Intelligent Community of the Year.
Network Dynamics, Inc. will take part in a special reception to honor this accomplishment which will be held at the Columbus Museum of Art on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, and provide a charitable gift to the city’s TechColumbus partnership. “As a client of NDI, the City of Columbus recognition as one of the Top7 smart cities is an extraordinary honor that reflects well on the city for its keen insight and understanding on leveraging information and communications technology to enhance their community. This also reflects well on the partnership we have with them to provide IT solutions that have a significant impact on their citizens and help fuel economic growth,” said Jim Bradshaw, Chairman and CEO of Global Convergence, Inc.
“We are very pleased that NDI has partnered with us in attacking some of the IT network infrastructure challenges that cities can encounter while evolving to next generation, broadband economies,” said City of Columbus Technology Director, Gary Cavin. “Their sponsorship of TechColumbus in particular, which is just one of the many partnership programs Mayor Michael Coleman has initiated, can help enable entrepreneurism, innovation and sustainability in our city.”
